Our Selection Process
We require the following of all of our nannies:
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Enhanced DBS check
- A minimum of 2 references that have been verified verbally or in writing
- Hold at least one recognised childcare qualification or the equivalent working experience (ask us for more information on qualifications)
- Provide proof of identity (passport, driving license, identity card)
- Provide proof of address (utility bill or bank statement dated within 3 months)
Our selection process is two stages:
It costs nothing to register with us. For any nanny, maternity nurse or babysitting jobs please complete the registration form. We will then let you know if we wish to arrange a face-to-face meeting. Do get in touch with one of our team if you have any queries.
2. Face-to-Face Meeting stage
Our aim is to support you as a candidate therefore its important that we get to know you and why the face-to-face meeting is invaluable. During this meeting, we will verify your documents, ask you to expand on the information given in your registration form to enable us to complete your candidate profile and discuss anything else you might wish to cover.
Its vital that we match our nannies skills and preferences with our clients requirements. We will only ever put forward candidates that truly match personal family requirements to ensure there is no waste of anyone’s valuable time for both nannies and clients.
What you can expect
Your candidate profile
We build each candidate a profile which will be forwarded to clients. This will cover all basic information given to us via registration and at the face- to-face meeting.
Nannies are invited to view their profile once created and before sending to any potential employers.
We have found this to be very successful as this creates consistency of presentation for all candidates which clients find easier to select from.
Interview and Placement
Once we have forwarded a candidate profile to a potential employer and they have indicated they wish to interview the nanny we will then support the nanny throughout this process. We will brief the nanny fully on the role available and we have tools on hand to help prepare for the interview.
We would usually expect client & nanny interview process to be two stages. We encourage our clients to meet first with the nanny without the children present and if they wish to proceed with a 2nd interview stage invite the children then to meet the nanny.
At the end of each interview we will obtain feedback from both the client and the nanny.
If the client then wishes to employ the nanny we will create an offer of employment which will form a formal agreement of placement between us, the client and nanny. This would then be followed by an Employment contract between the nanny and client. We will support both the client and the nanny with the placement process and of course we will be on hand for any post placement support needed.
What you need to know
All of our nannies must hold a DBS Enhanced Disclosure. If you are a nanny that has not yet obtained this we can help with this. Please read here for more information about DBS or get in touch with one of our team
Although it is not apart of our essential criteria we do recommend that all of our nannies undertake a first aid course as it gives you a much higher chance of employment as many families specifically look for this when employing a nanny. We have teamed up with one of the UK’s London’s leading accredited training providers of childcare courses. Nannies are not required to be registered with Ofsted to apply with us. Registration is entirely voluntary. However, it can be seen to make you more employable to some families because to be able to claim the childcare element of working tax credits or employer supported childcare vouchers, parents must employ nannies who are Ofsted registered. Registration costs £105, this does not include the cost of the DBS check. The annual cost of renewal is £105. Many families often end up covering the cost as it benefits them financially to employ an Ofsted registered nanny.
