DBS Enhanced Disclosure
A DBS check is essential to prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable children. All nannies registered with Nanny and Child have a valid and recent enhanced disclosure.
Whether you’re a parent looking to employ a nanny not placed through us or a nanny not registered with us we can arrange a DBS enhanced disclosure for you.
What is a DBS Check?
In 2012 The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA) merged to become the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Therefore CRB checks are now called DBS checks. The enhanced process checks for spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings plus also checks to see that the nanny has not been entered on a register as not being suitable to work with children.
Nanny and Child DBS Checks
We regularly complete these checks for our own nannies. We can offer this service to families, after an offer of employment, a fresh DBS can be undertaken by Nanny and Child. It can take up to 2 weeks but usually is returned within 5 working days. Nanny and Child will receive confirmation of their clearance via email and the nanny will receive the completed certificate to their home address. We also then take a copy of the nanny’s certificate to keep with their candidate profile.
DBS Check – Process and Cost
For a fully enhanced DBS Check one of our consultants will deal directly with the nanny and verify their documentation. Once applied for we will monitor the application and when confirmed we will contact the family and / or nanny via email. The cost for this service is £70 (no VAT).
